Creating Community

Yogarden is a an all ages, collective community event, focusing on sowing the seeds of love, charity, expression, kokua, and Growth. Through mediums of music, Yoga, Dance, Painting, Culinary arts, Raw Foods, Photography, Performance art, and especially aloha, a growing symbiotic Community is unearthed. Edible landscaping seminars and yoga classes align with gardening and roots movement energies to form the happening known as yogarden. This event took place at Sunset Beach Hawaii at Rochelle Ballards North Shore Wellness Retreat.

Aloha Friends and Family,

Together we can do Anything! Community is such a vital part of survival in this world. Our family and friends are so important and without them we would be.....lost, bored, and lonely!  Practice being grateful for everyone in your life, because they are all apart of your community.   We all have our talents, skills, strengths and weaknesses as individuals and it is important to love and respect yourself.  This is your life to live, so live with what you've been given as a Being of this Earth.  Remember, you are not alone in this life journey. There are many other beings walking this earth, living with what they have been given.  Learn from each other, remember to be both teacher and student, speaker and listener, doer and observer.  So much can get done when people come together with respect and intention to learn from and help others in there community. Be open to learning from each other. Do not ever doubt yourself as a teacher, because it may be your turn to speak.

Yogarden is about Creating a Positive Community.  Through activities such as Yoga, Gardening, and Music,  you may find yourself anew, surrounded by friends that are there to support and motivate you to follow your strengths and to let your creative Expression Shine.  We all shine on!   We are all Love!  True, heart felt, unconditional Love.  We are in search of places to go for Sanctuary, a place where we can freely and comfortably give and recieve this Love. These places are few and far between.   I have found this sanctuary in places like The Aloha Yoga Kula, The Makawao House, the Ocean, Ong King, Kalalau Valley, my garden, and Grandmas house.   Together we can consciously create more loving environments for each other. Yogarden creates a space where all are welcome with no judgments, age restrictions or racial profiling.  Let it be a space for EVERYONE. Also, reminding everyone that this sacred space of sanctuary and unconditional love comes from the heart.  You are all the Love you are Looking for.   Material spaces are capturing the Love and Intention put forth from the people who created them. Its not the space, its the people, the community.

Plant the seeds you want to see grow with intention and they will Flourish.  If you continue to water them with focus and awareness and fertilize with love and compassion, the plants will become trees.  We can all enjoy the comforting refreshing shade and peace these trees provide, while eating there blissful fruits.  However a tree takes time to grow, it doesn't just appear.  To reach this place of sanctuary where we can freely eat these sweet fruits of bliss, it is important to remember that it all starts with the SOIL (a solid foundation)! What are you planting your seeds in?  Is it stable ground, rich with nutrients?  Is it ready to support growth?  Manifest these dreams of trees into reality!  Be present with where you are in your heart space when planting the seeds of your dreams. Sustainability starts with the SELF, so enrich yourself with love and intention and truly bring forth the energy to manifest  your own Destiny.   Others will then recognize and be attracted to the light you emit and the reality you create for yourself.  Our community is the Sunshine, encouraging warmth and growth to the seeds of our dreams.  We all possess this burning light of inspiration and together we can shine as bright as the sun, with the power to light up this World. We can inspire a blossoming of Creative Expression. What kind of flowers do you see and smell? How sweet is the smell and how beautiful are the colors?  This earth is our garden and we are the gardeners. Together we can enjoy all the sweet fruits and vegetables that support a healthy life style for ourselves and future generations.  This is all food to inspire positive thought.  Yogarden is growing! =-)
Every 2nd Saturday, Yogarden is working to build community by hosting Yogarden Music Gatherings at Hale Mana, next to the bowling alley in Kailua.   Through creative expression, we offer love and support to everyone.  Since the birth of Yogarden Music Gatherings in October, I have seen an amazing aliveness in my community of friends and family.  Finally, a place in Kailua to see good music, poetry, and art. This is a sanctuary to shake it on the dance floor, eat good local grinds, drink kava, Kombucha, tea and WATER. This is a sacred space, created with intention,  for honoring each others talents. A space created for the people by the people of our community.

This is the 2nd Yogarden Music Gathering, with Pressure Drop Jammin out.  This was 3 times bigger than the 1st gathering because word was out about the Love being spread through Kailua Town.  Yogarden continues to grow every month.

Getting in the Garden, being the Change, creating authentic community and a fertil bed for growth and expansion.  This is just part of the Yogarden crew who helped plant a beautiful garden for the Northshore Wellness Retreat Property, The location of our first Yogarden 'Country kine' Gathering.  This was Yogarden's first growth spurt out of Kailua.  We could not have been more pleased with what was created.  Thank you to everyone who supported this expansion to the North Shore, this is the 1st of many to Come.

Stay tuned for the next 'country kine' Yogarden, which will encourage the growth of our friend Anthony's 3 acre farm in Haliewa.

Love and Aloha to all.  We are all in this together. Yogarden will continue to encourage and inspire.  We are excited to create more gatherings that incorporate the practice of Yoga and gardening. We are looking for places to host gatherings, such as Organic farms, yoga studios or any other places that will encourage the Growth of our vision and help in bringing community together.

Mahalo and Aloha.  Love, Light, and Bliss to all!
